Just Living is Not Enough

The small things put life into perspective. Next generation fishing girl.

As a child the ultimate adventure starts out with your grandpa telling you stories as you sit and wait for the fish to bite. All of the world problems slip away and for a moment in time my world was just a bamboo stick, a fishing boat  and the river. My beloved grandpa made me believe that I could do anything and I can. Never let anyone destroy your dreams. because without dreams there are no big fish to catch. I hope to be that type of grandpa to my grandkids!

My love for outdoors started at a young age with my Grandfather. He taught me many things to respect, learn from and love in nature and in life. He took me for my first fishing trip when I was very young. On the wonderful river of St. Croix I started my love for fishing. I loved running to Grampy’s  house down the street and waiting for the magical moment where we would walk down the hill together hand in hand and fish. If I close my eyes I can see these wonderful moments! Old fashion bamboo rod fishing. I can still remember the splash of waves on the walls of the fishing boat. The sounds of silence has I waited with my beloved grandfather for the fish to bite. The lessons my grandfather taught me all through life. It all started by sitting with him long ago in his fishing boat. I love my grandfather, more of a father, for teaching me life lessons and how to survive on the land if needed. He left me at a young age, but his life lessons and his unconditional love will stay with me forever. Every time I fish I feel his presence  right beside me.
